Is it possible to have genital herpes outbreaks on other parts of the body? Would a breakout in a new area be more severe? I have had genital herpes for 15 years, with not very severe breakouts, but recently begun getting sores on other body parts that look like blisters.

Although it is possible that the sores on the other parts of your body may be herpes, I would not assume that, but rather go to your doctor when a lesion is present so it might be cultured and he or she may do a workup to determine what the ideology of it is. It is unlikely for it to occur in widespread areas of your body because Type 2 Herpes is usually restricted to the nerves that are in the Perineal or vaginal or penile regions.
