Can it be possible for someone with genital herpes to have an outbreak lasting over a month if they do not have HIV/AIDS?
It is clearly possible to have herpes that lasts a long time, if you have an immune problem, even if it is not related to HIV. There are many other immune problems which can prolong a herpes attack, especially if you don’t take medicine to suppress the attack such as Valcyclovir and Famcyclovir. I would strongly suggest that you go to an Immunologist and have a workup to determine if there are some problems with your immune system that might be related to this prolonged episode of herpes. In normal circumstances, herpes should clear within 8 to 10 days.
