Talk About Herpes | Contagious Cold Sores

I’ve had cold sores since I was a child. I’ve always been very careful not to infect my partners when I’ve had cold sores, but in spite of that, I’ve still given it to 3 of my lovers. Sadly, after 7 years of marriage, I just discovered that my wife has a sore on her vulva, and I’m quite sure it’s herpes. I feel terribly guilty for giving it to her, even though I didn’t have any obvious sores on my lips (upon close examination, however, we discovered a very small lesion…) Although it is remarkable that we have managed to prevent this for 7 years, I was hopeful we could do so for the rest of our lives. It just goes to show that no matter how careful one is, the virus can still fool you and slip through.
