I contracted genital herpes at the age of 16 from my first boyfriend. I was devasted to say the least, but after educating myself about herpes 1 and 2, I realized that contracting herpes is not a "death sentence". Since my diagnosis I have married a man who does not have genital herpes and we have conceived two daughters (both were vaginal deliveries that produced healthy and fine children). My husband and I also use condoms regularly to prevent him from contracting genital herpes (our only exception was when we conceived our daughters). [47435]
