That is a wonderful question! I cannot tell you how long herpes stays dormant in your system or when the virus is going to rear its ugly head. There are people who never have an outbreak, and yet capable of transmitting the virus. There is no good data to suggest what time frame could come between infection and first outbreak. So I can’t be sure with any degree of certainty.
