Other than the initial shock of finding out I have an incureable virus that I will have for life, herpes has not caused me too many problems. I have a boyfriend who loves me in spite of my condition, we have an 11 month old, beautiful, healthy baby boy and another on the way. I have outbreaks maybe 3x a year (allthough during pregnancy they happen more often) and they literally last about 2 to 3 days with meds. Pain is very minimal and i havent had an actual lesion in over a year and a half. The stigma is the worst thing about this stupid virus! Once you can get over that, you will realize that herpes really isnt a big deal. No one has to know unless u plan to have sex with them so to everyone else, you are still the same, beautiful old you. There are people out there willing to look past it, a lot more than you`d think so dont lose hope! Life goes on after herpes! [46574]
